October was a good reading month for me. I read 8 full-length novels, 2 novellas, 4 short stories, 1 non-fiction book and 5 books of the Bible 🙂
I didn’t manage my challenge to read 2 paperbacks per month, as I only read one physical book this month, which was a hardback copy of Lucky Ghost, by Matthew Blakstad. I’ve added some of my novelty buttons to the cover to add some extra ghostly oinks to my photo 😉
I’m really pleased to announce I’ve finally picked up my Bible again after not reading any of it since April. I read 5 books of the Old Testament, and only have 62 pages of the Old Testament left to go, woohoo! Here is the link to all my reviews so far for my Bible Challenge on Goodreads. I’d really like to finish the Old Testament by the end of the year. Then I can focus on the New Testament next year.
My other challenge is to keep my NetGalley shelf down to 5 books or less. I’ve managed it for two months in a row now, yay. In fact, I’ve actually got it down to just 3 books, and I’m currently reading one of those. I can hardly believe it myself. Let’s see if I can completely clear my shelf by the end of the year. Now that would be an achievement, seeing as I find it very hard not to add more and more books 😉
Overall, October was a successful reading month, and I’m looking forward to November review commitments and attempting the Non-fiction November 2017 challenge 🙂
Here are the books I read in October…

Way to go on your Bible Challenge! It’s a hard slog getting through the whole thing! I also picked up a copy of Hacking Darkness thanks to your review. 😉

Thanks, Claire. It feels good to finally tackle some more of the Bible! Ooh, fantastic, I hope you enjoy Hacking Darkness. I’ve read a few books by Marissa Farrar. She writes all sorts, but I’m not as interested in her more paranormal fiction with vampires and shape-shifters, but loved her Monster Trilogy (Defaced, Denied, Delivered). It has a hint of Beauty and the Beast to it, but in a more modern/realistic way. I also absolutely loved her standalone novel, No Second Chances (which I described as a romance with rough edges in my review. I really connected with the characters in that book) 🙂
