Today, my dog walking and book loving buddy, Katie and I decided to visit Beerwolf Books in Falmouth for the first time. It is a lovely atmospheric and rustic pub with a room full of books for sale in the middle of it β€
I’ve never visited anything quite like it. Despite the room of books being quite small, there is an eclectic mix of fiction and non-fiction books available to suit everyone, many of which I’d never heard of before.
Once we had bought a book each, we decided to treat ourselves to a tasty beverage. In my case a shot of Kraken rum, while we looked at our newly purchased books and generally laughed a lot π
Imagine my surprise when I suddenly spot a Facebook friend of mine who I’ve never met before, who lives in Yorkshire, and just happens to be down on holiday in Cornwall this week, walking into the room of books while I’m happily supping on my rum. I couldn’t believe my eyes! What are the chances that we would both be in the same pub on the same day, at exactly the same time, especially when you consider neither of us had been to the pub before. Talk about fate! How wonderful to meet my friend John for the first time π
Katie and I had a lovely chat with John and his wife.Β I’m sure we could have all chatted for hours, but Katie and I had to leave to go and have lunch before she needed to pick up her boys from school.
We had truly scrumptious fish and chips at Harbour Lights, which recently wonΒ Independent Fish & Chip Restaurant of the Year 2017, which in my opinion is very well deserved. I love it there. The food is always really tasty, the service is great, and the view of the boats in the harbour is beautiful, especially on a sunny day π

How amazing to meet John down in Cornwall. I’m looking forward to meeting him at the RNA tea in York later in the year. Looks a fab bookshop. What a lovely day out!

I know! I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. I just suddenly blurted out to Katie, “Is that John?”. At first she thought I meant her husband Jon, which was a little confusing, seeing as he’s working abroad at the moment, lol. Then I opened up Facebook on my phone and looked up his profile and decided, yep, that’s definitely John. So went over to him and gave him a huge hug π Ooh, hope you have fun in York β€ I can't wait to move back there eventually π xxx
